How to Use a Bidet: A Practical Guide

Bidets can be found in many parts of the world. If you've ever been outside the USA, you might have seen one. A bidet is a basin located near the bathroom's toilet. It is used to clean your body after using the toilet or to wash your genitals. Although you might feel uncomfortable at first, these fixtures are extremely hygienic.

Step 1Always use the toilet before using the bidet. The bidet is meant to be used for cleaning upafter you use the toilet. However, it is not a toilet. Some people use a bidet with or withouttoilet paper. Others use toilet paper and the bidet. Still, others use the bidet to dry their skinand then towel them off.

Step 2 - Straddle or sit on your bidet. If you are using standalone bidets, you can choose to facethe controls or look away. This is similar to sitting on the toilet. It is much easier to adjust the water temperature or flow of some models' jets if you face them. You may need to take offyour pants before you can properly straddle the bidet. To determine the correct straddleposition or sitting position, you'll need to examine the different models and bidet configurations.

Step 3 Adjust the water temperature and strength of the jets to make sure you're comfortable with all aspects. If your bidet offers hot and cold water, you will need to turn on the hot control first. After you have hot water, turn the cold water control slowly until it reaches a temperature you are comfortable with. You may need to reverse the order if you live in a warmer climate.Water from the tap can be very hot.

Some tips for bidet use include:

Some bidets require that you hold the control lever continuously in order to keep the jets on.Certain models can produce a high level of water jet by the slightest touch to the controls.

Before you operate the bidet for the first time, make sure to inspect it carefully. This will
prevent you from being surprised if water jets appear. You can anticipate where the water
will come out so that you're ready when you turn the controls.

It can be difficult to use a spray-nozzle bidet until you are familiar with how it works.
Place your hand on the spray nozzle to ensure that water does not touch your hands.
Next, look for the diverter lever. You will find it either right next to the taps or between
them. To pull or push this lever, you need to be in front of it.

Step 4: Get in a good position so that water jets can reach the areas you want to clean. Some models let you sit, hover, or squat. Although bidets don't have seats, you can still sit on the rim and not squat over it. Some bidets don't have water jets. Instead, there are taps thatfill up the basin like a sink.

Step 5: With your hands, use the water-filled basins or jets to clean the genital or anal areas. Youcan clean your genitals and anal area in the same manner as you would in a bath or show.

Step 6: Dry off. To dry your hands, you can use a towel or toilet paper. You will often find a towelor toilet paper near your bidet. This may be used to dry off your hands and other regions orto clean up any water from the fixture after you have rinsed it.
